Telepsychology Services
Please note that for individual therapy, I see clients Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays between 9am-4pm, and right now I'm available to see clients via telehealth services only. At this time, our College is advising that psychological services should continue to be provided by telehealth, except in circumstances where there is an urgent need. Likewise, the Alberta government emphasized that those who can work remotely should continue to do so. At this time, in consideration of everyone's health and safety, all sessions will continue to be held by video or telephone, until further notice. Please, if you are an existing client unable to connect by video, email me and let's find a way of connecting over the next while, even if it means a short phone call or email to touch base. I have offered video counselling for years and have now taken additional training to offer somatic therapy via telehealth. I believe I can confidently offer my support through these means. I recognize that this may feel like a daunting time for some of you. I appreciated your understanding of the importance of collective effort.

Fees
The cost of the initial session is $200, and usually lasts about 65 minutes. This allows us enough time to go over what you’re most hoping for from counselling, what you can expect from me, where you might feel stuck, and to begin to form a collaborative plan of how best we can work together. After our first meeting, ongoing sessions are $180 and they are 50 minutes in length. This is in close alignment with the recommended fee schedule of the Psychologist Association of Alberta.  The recommended fee schedule can be found here.

Psychologists' fees are not covered by Alberta Health Care, but they are covered by many employee benefit plans such as Blue Cross or Canada Life. I am able to direct bill to some of these plans, depending on the unique plan. It’s always best to check with your individual health benefit plan to find out about the available coverage you have per year and the possibility of direct billing.

I have a number of spots reserved for clients who pay a reduced rate. At this time, all those spots are full. Please know that many other therapists in the community offer reduced fee rates, including a number of my current and former supervisees. Please feel free to have a look at the list I’ve created of other therapists and ask them directly if they offer a reduced fee rate, or if you’d like a specific recommendation based on the issue you’re coming into counselling with, you can shoot me an email and I’ll do my best to suggest someone that I think might be able to help.

Wait Times
Though it can vary, please expect about expect about a six month waiting period from the time I first receive your email to the time I can offer you a first appointment. If the need is urgent, you may want to look into connecting with another therapist in the community. If you do email me, I'll aim to respond within 3 business days.

I look forward to connecting with you!

I'd love to give you the chance to get to know me more before jumping into a group experience or working with me 1-1. One of the best ways to do that (in addition to making your way through all the resources I've posted right here on the website) is by signing up for my newsletter to get a better sense of who I am and what to expect with me.

As a thank you for signing up, you'll receive a free copy of "5 Beliefs to Support You in Setting Boundaries". From there, I send out emails about a dozen times a year with handy guides I've created, information about the latest groups I'm offering, news about community resources, and a curated collection of the best articles and resources related to mental health from a feminist counselling perspective.
